We have gotten a series of results today…all popping up in charts within 30 minutes of each other.

First- Lukes’s cerebrospinal fluid has NO malignant cells in it. This is the result of the Lumbar Puncture (they extract some for testing as well as inject chemo straight into it). Luke has never had malignant cells in his spinal fluid but we are of course VERY thankful there are still none.

Second- The results of Mason’s genetic testing came back and he is positive for the gene (CSF3R). Not what we wanted, but we will forge ahead and trust. Therefore, Mason will NOT be Luke’s donor.

Third- Luke got a phone call as Mason, he, and I were having lunch with Uncle Matt. His MRD (minimal residual disease) is NEGATIVE! (results of the bone marrow biopsy) The chemo is working and there is no detectable leukemia in Luke’s body as of now. This doesn’t change anything about the master plan. He will not have to have additional chemo medicines added to his already scheduled orders (18 rounds this next cycle). Very thankful for this. His body is responding. That is less leukemia, fewer cells to get rid of, and prep for a new immunity- aka transplant (we don’t want any cells left anywhere that could attack his “new donor” cells and kick them out-therefore leaving him with his old cells that like to make malignant cells).

We have received two calls asking if Luke can check in tomorrow to get rolling on his chemo. Luke asked them if Wednesday could work, instead of tomorrow or as planned on Thursday. We are waiting to hear back from scheduling.

I’m running around like a crazy person.
