Yesterday was a good day for Luke. I accidentally first wrote “yesterday was a God day for Luke.” That is definitely more like it. God gave him some reprieve. Although the chemo is still flowing, Luke sat up from noon until about 10 PM yesterday! Even walked to the bathroom twice. He also ate 2 cheesesticks, 2 mandarin orange cups, 1/4 of a panera baguette, and 4 bites of soup. And he kept it all down. We got to see our Morgan yesterday and she is coming again today! YAY! Luke also had a great nights sleep. No unnecessary beeps and no fever from what Luke remembers. And that is all that really counts. I was so tired at 9:30 PM I went to a respite room, watched The Holiday, and slept for 7 hours straight. I even woke up this morning and got a virtual workout in with a few of my workout hags.
Luke is sitting up this morning building an enormous lego and eating more mandarin orange cups. Today is his last day of active chemo. He will start around 12:30ish for his first round that lasts about 45 minutes and then the second round will start around 5:30 for about 3 1/2 hours. Then we continue on the side effect/counts roller coaster. Thank you for all the encouragement. Keep it comin!
Buckets of mandarins,
Suz
PS (no one was harmed after previous post)
